Safe Passage earns accreditation
COEUR d'ALENE — Safe Passage Children's Advocacy Center in Coeur d'Alene was awarded accreditation by the National Children’s Alliance under the latest National Standards of Accreditation, achieving the highest level of assured quality of services for children and families experiencing abuse.
“Safe Passage Children’s Advocacy Center is to be commended for its excellent work serving victims of child abuse,” said NCA chief executive Teresa Huizar.
The SPCAC serves North Idaho and is currently conducting 250 trauma informed forensic interviews per year with individuals ages 3-18. Additional services include forensic pediatric exams, advocacy for non-offending family members and trauma-informed counseling.
Scott Coleman, SPCAC’s director, said he appreciates community partners who have helped so much along the way.
"Without the day-to-day efforts of our multidisciplinary team members, we wouldn't be able to provide these much-needed services to the children in our community," he said.
