CITIZEN OF THE YEAR: Honor for Adams

Kudos to the Greater Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce for selecting my husband and partner for the last 32 years, John Adams, as 2023 Citizen of the Year. We could not be prouder. Together John and I combined our salaries to raise and help through college, all seven of our children in our merged family. It was an interesting and challenging time, but we succeeded.

My first job when I came to Coeur d’Alene in the 1980s was to work with Sandy Emerson at the Chamber in Membership Development. We were able to increase membership to 600 members and produced a national award-winning newsletter. This business networking is how I met John; his sister, Janis; and brother, Wally.

Our community is extremely fortunate to have Linda Coppess as the Chamber president and CEO. She is very knowledgeable in the technological field and will move our Chamber forward in membership expansion and improved member benefits. For John Adams to be recognized by this fine organization of which his dad, Jack Adams, and now John have been members for 75 years as Coeur d’Alene Tractor Company, is indeed an honor. I am happy to share in this selection.
