Ernest V. Miller Jr.

Ernie “Butch” Miller died  Sept. 27, 2023, riding his bicycle near his longtime home in Hayden, Idaho. He was born in Altadena, Calif., to Agnes and Ernest Miller, the third of four children. He was raised in Long Beach, Calif., and graduated from Jordan High School. 

He worked primarily in the aerospace industry as an expediter, traveling widely, including to Saudi Arabia, Alaska and Erie, Pa. He loved to travel for leisure, especially where he could find a beautiful waterfall.

He lived in Idaho for more than 20 years in Harrison and Hayden.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Meredith. He is survived by his sisters, Jane and Patricia, and 10 nieces and nephews. Also surviving him are his beloved tuxedo cats, Archie and Leroy. 

He appreciated his many friendships and had deep interests in vintage music, firearms and cars. An avid exercise buff, he greatly enjoyed working out at the gym, swimming and bicycling. 

Ernie had a simple service, and, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to a local pet rescue group.
