JUNK: Time to clean up Cd’A
It’s about time we push for some local restrictions keeping residential properties from turning into junk yards… I know property rights are sacred to Idaho, and I am the biggest proponent of property rights. However, the lack of restrictions is really making our town uglier and uglier every day.
There are vehicles that get parked, with the owner knowing it will never move again. There are boats in front of houses and parked in yards, that will never see water (and haven’t since 1986). What is the value there? Hoarding has it’s own TV show to prove there is no value in that junk. I just saw Washington enacted ordinances for one junk vehicle per lot. Maybe we should consider something similar? I know Coeur d’Alene is always eager to hear and follow what Washington is doing (sarcasm).
The other oddity is how little people use their garages to store vehicles. There is a wonderful benefit to parking a vehicle in a warmer garage, free of weather, especially on those cold mornings. However, most people don’t because garages are floor to ceiling junk. Come on, let’s clean up the city.
