TONIGHT: JACC to host Bluegrass Concert

| December 1, 2023 1:00 AM

Three bluegrass musicians are making a stop at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center as part of a Winter Tour.

The show, featuring grammy nominee Nick Dumas, Momentum Award winner Chris Luquette, and The Warren G Hardings band member Andrew Knapp will perform at 7 p.m. tonight at 405 N. William St., Post Falls.

Dumas was introduced to bluegrass music at a very young age by his dobro-playing grandfather. He co-founded the popular Northwest-based bluegrass bands Northern Departure and North Country Bluegrass, in which he plays mandolin. Dumas made his Special C recording debut on the 2016 Compass Records band release "Long I Ride," which received the 2016 International Bluegrass Music Association Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year Award for the tune "Fireball."

Luquette is a founding member of Seattle based band Northern Departure, and has performed onstage with the likes of Jerry Douglas, Emmylou Harris, Bryan Sutton, Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley, The Steep Canyon Rangers, Kenny and Amanda Smith, The Boxcars, Yogi and The Yogini's.

Knapp plays bass with the Warren G Hardings band, which brings energetic dance style Bluegrass to festivals across the Northwest. He’s been playing bass with “Nick Dumas and Branchline” for most of their shows since the touring band started.

Tickets are $20 and available online at thejacklincenter.org

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
