POST FALLS — Lake City has its chances to work out the early season bugs.

Post Falls is still working on them.

Lake City outshot the host Trojans 10-0 to win an Inland Empire League match 4-0 on Tuesday at Post Falls High.

“It was our second game, and they’ve had four games,” Post Falls coach John Mueller said. “There’s something to be said about being battle tested, and we got tested today. We’ll have our work cut out for us against them, but we’ve got time to get out and grow. Hopefully a few more games will help us develop into how we want to play tactically. But our guys dug in and kept working hard.”

JZ Stimak-Eckman had two assists, Jacob Molina a goal and assist for Lake City (4-0, 4-0 IEL), which travels to Sandpoint on Sept. 7.

“We controlled possession very well," Lake City coach Kevin Jump said. Our back four defenders (Kai Delio, Ben Hannigan-Luther, Brayden Ristic, Gavin Schoener) were absolutely dominant again on defense. We had several scoring opportunities that we normally would put away. It’s an excellent start to the season for us.”
