Patricia (Patsy) Ruth Peterson, 86
A lovely soul, left her earthly home Aug. 1, 2023, to be with her heavenly father. Patsy was born Jan. 30, 1937, in Spokane, Wash., to Edward E. and Ruth F. (Askin) Heslin and lived in Long Lake, Wash., along with her brother, Joseph. She attended grade school in Long Lake and graduated high school from Reardan in 1954. After high school, she attended Kelsey-Baird Secretarial School in Spokane.
Patsy married David Peterson on Oct. 15, 1960, and moved to Seattle, Wash., where they started their family. After moving to Sandpoint, Idaho, and Pendleton, Ore., they moved to Post Falls, Idaho, in 1971. Patsy was a great homemaker and friend to all the children in the neighborhood. She was active in the Community Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir, played in the handbell choir, was an Elder and participated in many committees and activities. She served many years on the Presbyterian Women’s Association, serving as president for several years.
More than anything, Patsy loved her family. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, David; children Deanna (Bill) Brock, Scott (Shelly) Peterson, Kevin (Tammi) Peterson and Michael Peterson;
and grandchildren Tyler, Ben, Kyle, Trevor, Zoë, Blake, Kendall and Madeline. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and brother.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, at Community Presbyterian Church, 417 N. Williams St., Post Falls. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Community Presbyterian Church in her memory. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Generations Memory Care in Rathdrum, Idaho for their compassionate care of our mother.
