John Joseph Mueller, 69

| August 27, 2023 1:00 AM

John Joseph Mueller, 69, went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2023.

John was born in San Francisco on Nov. 16, 1953, and grew up in Novato, Calif. John married his wife, Nicole, on May 6, 1983, in Petaluma, Calif. We were blessed with 40 years together. The greatest joy in our lives was our son, Jonathan. Through the years, we lived in Petaluma, Sacramento and Medford, Ore., before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 2015. John was a self-checker at Fred Meyer.

John was the love of my life and the best husband and dad. Our family meant everything to him and we were so blessed by all the love he gave us. The sunshine left our lives when our son went ahead of us to Heaven, and I know John’s heart attack was truly caused by a broken heart.

John accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior when he was 21. He loved the Lord and had a passion for studying and teaching God’s word. He was the most loving, kind, compassionate, generous, funny, devoted, tenderhearted and caring man. He was always ready with a smile, an encouraging word, or a big hug. He had a twinkle in his eye and always sought to show the love of God to everyone he met.

Left to grieve is John’s wife, Nicole. John joins our precious son, Jonathan, in heaven. I would like to thank the first responders from the Coeur d’Alene Police and Fire Departments for all they did to try to save John and for their kindness and compassion to me.

John’s memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at Canvas Church, 2200 N. Seventh Street, Coeur d’Alene.
