COEUR d’ALENE — After giving up a few to start the season, the Timberwolves got a couple back.

Chloe Burkholder and Emily Medina scored in the first half for the Timberwolves in a nonleague win over the Bears at the Irma Anderl Soccer Complex.

“We were solid on the back line today,” said Lake City coach Matt Ruchti, whose team opened with a 1-0 loss to Sandpoint last Friday and a 3-2 defeat at Lewiston on Tuesday. “We gave up some odd goals in the first two games. We’re a young team and are going to have to grind out some games. Both the Sandpoint and Lewiston games were winnable, but we gave up some untimely goals. But we’re finding an identity and coming together.”

Lake City (1-2-0) travels to Coeur d’Alene on Saturday.

It was the season opener for Moscow.
