Mitchell, a 5-foot-7 graduate student setter from Lake City High, was named to the preseason All-Western Athletic Conference team, the school announced. Mitchell, a three-time All-WAC first-team student-athlete and two-time WAC Setter of the Year, holds the Lopes' Division I-era assist record with 3,392 in four seasons. Mitchell's 1,126 assists last season also ranks first in the program's Division I-era single-season assist record book, topping Mitchell's previous feat of 1,085 from the 2019 season. She now owns three of the top five slots in that category.
Ashley Kaufman
Central Washington volleyball
Kaufman, a 5-foot-8 outside hitter from Lake City High, was named to the preseason All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference team, the school announced. The team leader in kills (321) in 2022 is back with her second consecutive Preseason All-Conference Team nod. Kaufman, a graduate student, recorded 288 digs, a team-high 35 service aces, 36 blocks, and 22 assists last season. She picked up AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, AVCA All-West Region First Team, and GNAC All-Conference First Team honors in 2022.
Bridget Rieken
Washington State soccer
Rieken, a fifth-year senior defender, surpassed 6,000 career minutes played for the Cougars in Sunday's match against Texas A&M in College Station, a Cougars 3-2. In her time at Washington State, Rieken has centered a backline to the national semifinals and held opponents to less than a goal per game.
