Anna McManus, 83
Our lovely mother has passed away. Anna McManus died peacefully in her sleep at home with her family.
She arrived in the U.S. on the Swedish ship Gripsholm in 1960 knowing that this was the country of freedom and opportunity. She became a U.S. citizen and was a great patriot. She traveled the world with her family for many years supporting our dad at each military station from Germany to Saudi Arabia to dozens of U.S. states. She was always prepared for each move with her electric frying pan in her suitcase so we could have home-cooked meals.
Our mother was gregarious and loved to talk to everyone she would meet. She made friends in the blink of an eye. She was always well-dressed and loved the comments she received. She imparted such kindness and gratitude to her family and friends and each person she met.
She will be dearly missed by her sister in Sweden. Her four children, sons and daughters-in-law, in Idaho, as well as friends who have become like family, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren in Nevada and Oregon.
A memorial is planned for this fall in Sagle. Donations may be made in her name to our local VFW at www.SandpointVFW.com.
Family and friends are invited to sign Anna’s online guestbook at www.coffeltfuneral.com.
Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
