Due to a scheduling conflict, the Lakeland-Preston football game has been moved up to 3 p.m. pacific at Montana Tech University in Butte, Mont.

The teams have met in the previous two seasons, with Lakeland winning 28-0 in 2022.

Sachtjen wins at

Coeur d'Alene Crossing

Jacob Sachtjen was the top overall finisher in the annual Coeur d’Alene Crossing on Sunday, finishing the 2.4 mile swim from Arrow Point to the Hagadone Events Center.

Sachtjen, 17, won in 46 minutes, 40.1 seconds. Andrew Davis, 14, was second in 49:11.1.

Pema Anain, a rising junior at Lake City High, was the top female finisher in 49:50.2.

Tanner Nelson, 14, won the 1.2 mile swim in 26:36.4.

158 participants competed in the full swim, while 82 did the half.

Results for the event, a fundraiser for the Coeur d’Alene Area Swim Team, third-grade swim at the Kroc Center and Kroc Water Polo club, can be found at www.cdacrossing.com.

Gonzaga tabs Leiser as

volleyball assistant coach

Adrian Leiser will serve as the program's third assistant coach, Gonzaga volleyball announced.

Due to a new NCAA coaching rule, Leiser will add assistant coach to his role as director of volleyball operations, the position he served in last season.

Leiser joined Wilson’s coaching staff in the fall of 2022 after spending two seasons as a volunteer assistant at Weber State. During his time there, Leiser assisted the coaching staff in player development and played a major role in statistical analysis. Weber State went 41-12 during that span which included two regular season conference championships, one Big Sky Tournament Championship, and the first NCAA Tournament win in school history.
