Marsha Jeanne Clemens, 74

| August 16, 2023 1:00 AM

Marsha Jeanne Clemens, a beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully Aug. 10, 2023. She was 74.

Marsha was born Oct. 7, 1948, to Joseph and Linnie Flask in Los Angeles, Calif. She attended St. Genevieve Elementary and High School, graduating in 1966. She subsequently attended Cal State Northridge, where she graduated with a bachelor of science in sociology. She thereafter worked for the city of Los Angeles, where a coworker introduced her to a “tall, dark and handsome” police officer, Peter Clemens, who quickly became the love of her life and was proof to the rest of us that she had the patience of a saint. Marsha and Peter were married in 1978 and were soon blessed with three children, Robert, Cathie and Mary, thus providing her with the title she was always proudest of — mom.

Words don’t exist to adequately describe the remarkable woman Marsha was. She had a special way of making people feel loved and cared for. She was kindness personified, endlessly selfless, brilliant, so very funny and infectiously adventurous. Marsha was happiest outdoors. She never passed up an opportunity to go on an adventure whether skiing, paddle boarding, hiking or biking literally thousands of miles per year with her two beloved dogs, Cookie and Muffin, in a basket on the back of her bike.

She loved dancing and traveled all over the country with the Red Hot Mamas dance group. Her love of children and animals was unmatched. Marsha cherished time spent with her grandchildren and they absolutely adored her in return. No matter if you were a new friend or old, Marsha made you feel like you belonged and always had a place for you at her table, with an extra meatball on top of her famous spaghetti.

Marsha is survived by her husband of 45 years, Peter Clemens, children Robert Clemens, Cathie Cooper and Mary Brown, her three grandchildren and her sister, Pam Norman.

Marsha is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Linnie Flask, and brother Richard Flask.

A celebration of life will be held with details to be determined.
