CDA library board seeks trustee

Fay Sweeney, who has served on the Coeur d'Alene Library board of trustees since Feb.1, 1981, is not seeking reappointment.

That means the city of Coeur d’Alene is accepting applications for a five-year trustee post, which is appointed by the mayor and City Council.

The board establishes policies and rules for governing the library. Five trustees sit on the board.

Their duties include maintaining bylaws for board governance; adopting an annual library budget for review and approval by City Council; controlling the expenditures of money budgeted for the library; hiring supervising and evaluating the library director; and developing library policy and long-range plans, and exercising powers necessary for the orderly and efficient management of the library.

Applications are due by Sept. 1.
