TESH: Staff left due to hostile work environment
I wanted to weigh in on the very slanted article written by Bill Buley in regard to the problems facing Tesh. First it starts with a happy picture of the Tesh CEO. Mr. Buley cites a letter written to the families in which Ms. Hartzell states that staff left due to retirement, low wages and higher paying jobs.
As one of the family members of a staff member that left Tesh, I can assure you that the staff did not leave for any of those reasons. The staff that left have 100s of cumulative years of working for Tesh. They stayed because of the clients that they served and due to the leadership of Tesh’s true CEO, Terri Johnson.
Mr. Buley did not notice the incongruity of the letter to the families and Ms. Hartzell citing that staff didn’t want to embrace efficiencies. The two are wildly different reasons.
It is obvious that the Tesh Board chose one person, Ms. Hartzell, over staff and clients.
Mr. Buley missed the entire point, staff members left due to a hostile work environment and not pay issues.
