Emerge to host INK! Print Rally
COEUR d'ALENE — Emerge is preparing for its seventh annual INK! Print Rally from 1 to 7 p.m. Aug. 26 in the street in front of the Emerge Gallery, 119 N. Second St., Coeur d’Alene.
Attendees can enjoy interactive printmaking booths with activities for all ages, local artisans and makers, live music, food trucks and a beer garden.
In addition to dozens of local and regional artists, outreach extends to six local colleges and universities, businesses and community-based organizations. Last year, the Print Rally boasted more than 2,500 attendees.
This year, the rally will explore the theme "Evolution."
The showcased prints will reflect the process of steamrolling panels of carved wood, bearing stress upon fabric, ink and wood to create a piece of art that speaks of the artist, the context and the process.
Emerge's mission is to provide free and affordable arts education to youth and adults in the community. Funds raised during the rally will be used to maintain printmaking equipment for the Emerge classroom, offer scholarships and provide resources to underwrite art education.
