A traffic stop early Wednesday by a Kootenai County Sheriff's deputy resulted in two arrests and the seizure of illegal drugs.

The driver of the vehicle, Rhett D. Schow, 60, Tacoma, Wash., was booked into the Kootenai County jail for allegations of drug trafficking, possession with intent to deliver and criminal conspiracy, according to a press release.

A passenger, Glenda M. Belgarde, 65, Federal Way, Wash., was booked into jail for alleged drug trafficking, possession with intent to deliver and criminal conspiracy, the release said.

The deputy pulled the vehicle over on Interstate 90, milepost 29, for a minor traffic violation.

"During the traffic stop, the deputy observed fentanyl pills in plain view," the release said.

A search of the vehicle yielded about 200 fentanyl pills, about a pound of methamphetamine packaged in 1 ounce bags, suboxone and multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia.
