Samuel Jasper Wylie, 89
Samuel Jasper Wylie passed away April 9, 2023, at the age of 89, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Samuel's wife, Vera Wylie, preceded him in death after 65 years of marriage. He was also preceded by his granddaughter, Christian Kays, grandson Eric Wylie, son Calvin Wylie and granddaughter Ashley Daily.
Surviving children are Rhonda Kays, Janet Wylie and Sandra Foster. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, with a vast extended family in southern Idaho, whom he loved and adored.
Samuel served in the armed forces and then pursued a career in civil service. Starting with the Border Patrol, moving to the Department of the ATF, from which he retired. He also briefly held the position of Idaho State deputy fire marshal.
Samuel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, cousin, uncle and friend.
Samuel's sense of humor and love for his family will be remembered by his family, as only a family can remember.
Samuel did not want any services held. He requested to be at the lake, to be with his loved ones that preceded him in death. As per his request, he is resting peacefully with them.
Samuel was married briefly, several years after his wife of 65 years passed away, April 11 of 2021, until his death.
His legacy will live on through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
