Lilyquist struck out five over 5.2 innings for the Coeur d’Alene 12U Little League team in a 3-1 win over Beaverton, Ore., in a loser-out game in the Northwest Regional tournament on Sunday in San Bernardino, Calif. “Trent had an arm injury in early May that has prevented him from pitching for most of May and June,” Coeur d’Alene manager Dave Everson said. “I didn’t know if he would go one inning, two innings or anything beyond that. He was so effective mixing up his pitches and his locations that he was able to keep his pitch count low. We were so excited for Trent pitching the game of his life in one of the biggest stages for a 12-year old boy.”
