LEGION BASEBALL: Big seventh sends Lums past Havre at Northwest Regionals

HAVRE, Mont. — Tanner Franklin, who singled and scored the go-ahead run on an error in the top of the seventh, added a two-run single later inning as the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen eliminated the host Havre Northstars 15-8 in the Northwest ‘A’ American Legion baseball tournament on Sunday afternoon.

Charlie Dixon had a three-run double in the fourth inning, finishing the game with five RBIs for Coeur d’Alene (34-10). Jack Pierce scored three runs for the Lums, who will play again tonight at 3 against Powell, Wyo., to advance to Tuesday’s championship round.

Havre finishes 44-20-1.
