Fire near Q'emiln Park: Evacuations underway

POST FALLS — Firefighters are battling a wildfire sparked this afternoon near Q’emiln Park.
Named the Parkway Fire, it has grown to 12 acres, according to Kootenai County Fire and Rescue Chief Chris Way, and is threatening some residences.
Residents of several homes in Riverview Terrace are under a Level 3 evacuation, meaning they should evacuate.
Other homes are under Level 1 and 2 notifications, meaning they should be prepared to evacuate.
Kootenai County Emergency Management has set up an evacuation shelter as of 5 p.m. Friday at Mullan Trail Elementary School, 300 W. Cherry Ave., Post Falls.
