Children’s Village receives $100,000 grant
COEUR d’ALENE — Children’s Village recently received a $100,000 grant and, with community help, could double that amount.
For the third consecutive year, Kubota Tractor Corporation named five winners in its annual Kubota Hometown Proud grant program. Children's Village, supported by local Kubota dealer Matt Adams of Coeur d'Alene Tractor, was one of them.
“Coeur d'Alene Tractor is honored to represent this well-deserved program as Kubota works to give back to projects like these in hometowns across America — communities like ours are the heart and soul of our country and we are proud to deliver on-the-ground support to our local nonprofit partners,” Adams said.
Children’s Village provides crisis youth housing and family support services in Coeur d'Alene. The nonprofit "aims to restore trust and hope for families who experience abuse, neglect, or are in crisis — and their approach is to wrap a family unit in complete support while they go through any traumatic event."
Children’s Village won a 2023 Kubota Hometown Proud grant of $100,000. It plans to use the money to expand its facility to build a new outdoor pavilion for family classes and groups and build out its sensory park.
“We are so thrilled for the opportunity to expand our family support services and add agriculture to our campus, said Vanessa Moos, Children's Village chief executive officer. "Sustainability starts with the health of families, thank you Kubota for investing in our town.”
Next, each of the regional winners are put to a national public vote to determine which will receive an additional $100,000 grant as the Community Choice Winner, doubling their grant dollars.
If awarded the 2023 Community Choice grant, the organization will also be able to build a garden to become more self-sufficient and teach children about healthy eating, a press release said.
In addition, every voter who participates is entered into a separate sweepstakes for a chance to win a Kubota BX Series sub-compact tractor or Z200 Series zero-turn mower.
Voting is open until Aug. 14. The winner will be announced in September.
“We have served the equipment needs of this area for 75 years, and we are excited and honored to partner with The Children’s Village to bring this year’s Kubota Hometown Proud grant to Coeur d’Alene," Adams said.
