Rathdrum invites residents to see proposed campus site
Rathdrum residents are invited to an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 10 across the street from Parker Technical Education Center, 7064 W. Lancaster Road.
Guests will tour the proposed site of the Rathdrum City Campus project and will be asked to provide feedback to project coordinators, including representatives from the city, J-U-B Engineering Inc. and Architects West, which are all working on designs for the campus project.
The project would replace the old, insufficient and unsafe city hall with a public gathering space and campus which could include services like park spaces, the city police station, a parks and recreation department and amenities.
The campus could be funded within the next decade by grants, city savings, selling city property or donations. The city will maintain the goal of not paying for the project by increasing taxes.
A design concept will be presented to the city council in the fall for review and acceptance. The final concept will be used to apply for grants to fund the project.
