Football Officials’ meeting set for tonight
The IHSAA District 1 Football Officials are meeting tonight for a rules and mechanics meeting. The meeting will be held at Woodland Middle School, and will start at 6 p.m.

Kansas transfer Adams Jr.
makes it official at Gonzaga
Marcus Adams Jr. signed a financial aid agreement to attend Gonzaga and joins the men’s basketball team for the 2023-24 season.
Adams joins Gonzaga following a standout high school career at Narbonne High in Harbor City, Calif. He originally committed to the University of Kansas after reclassifying to from the 2024 class to the 2023 class.
From Torrance, Calif., Adams played prep basketball at Nathaniel Narbonne High School where he averaged 28.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in 2022-23 for coach Kumase Demesma. He had three 40-point performances, including a 50-point, 21-rebound game. Adams was the recipient of the 2023 John R. Wooden High School Player of the Year Award for the L.A. City Section Open Division.
Washington State quarterback to Maxwell watch list
Washington State quarterback Cameron Ward was named to the 2023 Maxwell Award Watch List for the second straight season, the Maxwell Football Club announced.
The Maxwell Football Club announced its watch list for the 87th Maxwell Award presented annually to the outstanding player in college football.
Last season, in his first season with the Cougars, Ward was named All-Pac-12 Conference Honorable Mention after starting all 13 games, leading WSU to its seventh straight bowl game and throwing for 3,231 yards and 23 touchdowns.
