Diane Duncan

| April 30, 2023 1:00 AM

Diane Grace Duncan, born Diane Grace Travis to Eugene and Grace Travis, joined the angels in heaven April 10, 2023. Diane passed peacefully in her sleep just days after celebrating her 54th wedding anniversary with Freeman B. Duncan. She is survived by her husband, son David, daughter Shannon, grandchildren Michael, Victoria and David Junior and three younger siblings Michael, Patti and Gene.

Diane, an Illinois native, moved to Post Falls, Idaho in 1977 with her husband and two kids. Diane loved the Post Falls/Coeur d'Alene area where she and Freeman opened one of the first Real Estate schools in 1981. She practiced Real Estate in the area for over 40 years, served on the Idaho Real Estate Commission and felt honored to serve on various community boards and forums throughout the years. Diane and Freeman joined the First Presbyterian Church in Cd'A in 1978 where she enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching and attending.

Diane was a devoted and loving wife, mother, Nana, and dear friend to many. Some may remember her by her delicious spiced nuts that she made for over 50 years and gave away each Christmas. She found joy in traveling, gardening, cooking, being with family, helping others and making people laugh.

She is described by her family as the following:

"She was dignity, grace, laughter, love and sacrifice. She brought color and magic to our lives. She cried, kissed, cheered, nurtured, and adored us. She taught us the importance of human connection, bravery and compassion. It is her smile, her laughter, her songs and her loving touch that will be greatly missed."
