CDA SCHOOL LEVY: Vote yes

What’s the value of an education? More than $6 a month? Many might argue it’s priceless. Public schools provide opportunities for all children, not only academically but in developing purpose and identity as a learner and contributor to the community. Can you put a price on that?

What’s the value of a child’s sense of self-worth, voice or confidence? I’ve had the pleasure of learning and growing in Coeur d’Alene nearly my whole life. It’s now my privilege to raise my own children here and to educate the children of our community. When I think about the levy, I have faith in our community and believe they see potential in our children — the future of Coeur d’Alene. I believe they agree you actually cannot put a price on a child’s sense of worth and purpose. There is no price — they’re invaluable.

Next time you see a child of any age — your child, grandchild, neighbor, a child at the store or on the sidewalk — ask yourself, “Is this child worth $6 a month?” If you have faith and hope for our community, I hope you will emphatically tell yourself “YES.” You cannot place a value on the potential of a child — it is infinite, as is their worth. That’s why I say to my children and the children of Coeur d’Alene — you are priceless. You have infinite worth and potential. I see you. You matter. I will vote yes for you.
