Emerge panel discussion Saturday at HREI

| April 28, 2023 1:00 AM

Emerge is hosting a panel discussion at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Human Rights Education Institute, 414 W. Fort Grounds Drive, Coeur d'Alene.

The panels are free and produced in collaboration with North Idaho College and the HREI.

The discussion topics will be "What is your goal for making art?" or "Does selling outweigh or compromise conveying concepts?" with instructor Alexandra Iosub and panel members Jen Erickson and Chris Grubb.

The event is free and open to the public and does not require advance registration but seating is limited.

"I am especially intrigued by classical realism juxtaposed against modern, abstract or even absurd interactions and environments," Grubb said in his bio on his website, chrisgrubb.art.

Grubb is a licensed engineer and a sculptor in a studio in Coeur d'Alene.

Erickson has a master of arts from Central Washington University and has been involved with several artist-run galleries. She currently teaches oil painting, printmaking, watercolor, drawing II and life drawing at North Idaho College.

The Emerging Artist Incubator is an ongoing series of panel discussions. The next discussion will be May 6 with the topic of "Social media: the good, the bad, the dilemma."
