CDA SCHOOL LEVY: Vote yes
I urge our community to vote yes on the Coeur d’Alene school levy on May 16. The future of our local schools and our children’s development depend on it. Without the levy, our schools will lose critical funding for athletics, advanced placement programs and music, and four elementary schools will face closure.
Many community members, including professionals and essential workers, rely on a robust school system for their children. Strong schools with extracurricular activities help retain these valuable contributors in our area. If the levy fails, the school system will lose 25% of its funding, leading to increased class sizes, a loss of 300 district jobs and reduced educational resources.
Passing the levy ensures continued support for athletics, advanced placement programs, and arts education, all of which play a crucial role in our students’ overall development. Moreover, the levy will secure the future of KTEC, a tuition-free technical trade high school providing valuable industry training for students.
Our community must come together to support the levy and invest in our children’s future. Let’s ensure our schools continue to provide the best possible education, preparing our children for success in every aspect of life.
