Orleen Cooper Cann, 91
Orleen Cooper Cann passed away peacefully April 19, 2023, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Orleen was born in Syracuse, Utah, to her father, Heber William Cooper, and her mother, Marguerite Helen Sandoz, on March 29, 1932, being the second youngest to 15 children of William. She was the last of her family. Through the years, she was close to her siblings and her brothers and sisters looked after her protecting her in many ways. Orleen married young to Arden McMillan and had six children, Jared, Pamela, Diana, Beth, Danny and Nancy. She belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she was raised in Syracuse, Utah, and then Martinez, Calif.
Moving from California to Idaho, she made her home in Rathdrum, Idaho, and there, she met and married Richard Cann in 1985. Orleen was a nurse’s aide for almost all her life and she was well-loved at all her stations.
The life Orleen led showed love for all around her. She was kind, sweet and sassy. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting, quilting, gardening, the beach and animals. She would always call us to look at the birds in the feeders and baths around the yard and we would love to see her excitement. Long fishing trips with Dick up to Lake KooCanUSA were her favorite.
Orleen’s husband and family would like to thank all those in the Rathdrum area wards and friends for their kind and caring support, especially after some challenging health issues. You have been so kind and helpful for all of us for many years.
Orleen is survived by her husband Dick Cann. She had six children, 28 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by us all, including her little baby Shih Tzu, Blackie. Her funeral services will be held at the Rathdrum Chapel, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2023.
