Man charged with drug trafficking after traffic stop
COEUR d’ALENE — A late-night traffic stop culminated in the arrest of a Montana man who allegedly possessed drugs.
Jade T. Budd, 28, of Frenchtown, Mont., was booked into the Kootenai County jail on charges of trafficking methamphetamine, possession marijuana, driving without privileges and unlawful possession of a firearm.
A Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputy initiated a traffic stop late Monday night in the area of Interstate 90 and exit 14, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Budd was reportedly driving on a suspended license and “demonstrating symptoms of being under the influence of narcotics.” The deputy arrested Budd at the scene.
A search of Budd’s vehicle allegedly yielded three ounces of methamphetamine, an unspecified amount of marijuana, two handguns and ammunition.
In Idaho, bringing 28 grams of methamphetamine or more into the state is considered trafficking.
