NIC SOFTBALL: Dobrev slams for Cardinals in sweep
WENATCHEE, Wash. — Sophomore Megan Dobrev hit a first inning grand slam for North Idaho College in a 9-1 win over the Wenatchee Valley Knights in the first game of a Northwest Athletic Conference doubleheader on Friday.
Dobrev also had an RBI double in the third inning to finish with five RBIs in the first game.
Freshman Emma Todhunter hit a two-run home run in the fourth for NIC in the opener.
In the nightcap, NIC freshman Abbey Brooks allowed one hit, a third inning single to Kaya Enriquez, in the Cardinals 9-0 win to get the sweep.
Freshman Hayden Rockwell and Todhunter each homered in the second game for NIC (22-9, 14-4 NWAC), which hosts Blue Mountain in a doubleheader next Friday at Memorial Field.
Wenatchee Valley is 13-18, 7-13.
