Cd'A Rotary hosting free breakfast for veterans

| April 21, 2023 1:00 AM

The Coeur d’Alene Rotary Club is hosting a free breakfast for veterans who live in North Idaho Saturday, April 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the VFW 889 Hall, 406 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene.

The event, co-hosted by the Coeur d’Alene Rotary Veterans Committee, is an opportunity for local veterans to meet and create new relationships and connections with other veterans in the community.

“This will be our second breakfast. Our first one in September was a total success and we had over 125 attend. So building on that success, be sure to come meet another vet and share your patriotism and love of country,” said Joe Deacon, Rotary Vet’s breakfast coordinator, in a press release.

Coeur d'Alene Rotary Club President Candace Godwin said the club's Veterans Committee started last year and is gaining traction.

"I’m proud of what they do,” Godwin said. “Veterans in our club recognized a need to connect."

There is no charge for the breakfast and the event is being underwritten by a Rotary Express grant and sponsored by Super 1 and The Village Bakery in Hayden.

All veterans are encouraged to bring a friend.
