STUDENT: ‘Invest in me,’ vote yes
I am writing to encourage our city to invest in its students. As a student in the Coeur d’Alene School District, I have had life-changing and memorable experiences here, and I hope that our city will vote “yes” to continue to provide the same for the students who follow me.
I have attended Canfield, CHS and KTEC. All three schools have been filled with great people and have helped me grow into the person that I am today. Without a change in the outcome of the district levy, I worry that my senior year may not include these activities and programs, and that future students might miss out on them completely. I have played sports throughout my time in high school and this experience has taught me the importance of hard work and working with others on a team.
I currently participate in the construction program at KTEC. This program allows me to learn valuable skills that will help me with my future career. This program has given me success. Finally, I have recently obtained a student custodian job with the district. This job allows me to work right within the walls of my school. I value the friendships that I have made working for the district. If the levy does not pass, others may miss out on athletics, and I will lose the KTEC program and my student job.
Please invest in me, and in all students. We are the future. Vote “yes” for our schools on May 16!
