LIBRARY NETWORK ELECTION: Vote for Meyer and McCrea

North Idaho voters are urged to elect Judy Meyer and Regina McCrea for the two positions on the Library Board of Trustees. It can be hard at times to vet candidates for non-partisan positions, but re-electing these two women is the easy, right decision. Current Vice Chair Judy Meyer has a proven track record of expanding library access and services while standing on a foundation of decades of local and statewide service in the name of education. Attorney Regina McCrea currently serves as Board Clerk and is committed to maximizing library materials and programming. The two challengers for the CLN Trustee positions are running on partisan platforms rooted in censorship.

Books matter. Free speech matters. Reading is more than a hobby or a privilege — it is a right that must be protected. Library access opens minds and unlocks doors. We learn about the human experience in the pages between the covers. Within a book’s binding, we travel to amazing places that may otherwise be inaccessible, unattainable, or unimaginable. We learn about what drives us apart and how we come back together.

I have complete confidence that Meyer and McCrea will continue to serve my community, its children and my rights through their dedicated, open-minded leadership.
