LEVY LETTER: Student got it wrong
Ms. Howard needs to harken back to her middle school days at Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy. That facility, which was converted from a factory and a pet store, produced the best and the brightest. Check out the SAT scores. They did not rely on picking our pockets with never-ending levies. They were funded solely on their enrollment numbers. And, the shortfall was made up by hardworking, involved parents and teachers who taught, not baby-sat. The levy controversy is over a bloated, overpaid, non-teaching bureaucracy which is kept in power by grants and federal money. I saw it when I was a teachers aide at another high school here in Kootenai County.
As a smart girl and good student, dig deeper for the truth and do not just read the self-serving propaganda on the CDA 271 website. Follow the money, Andi Jane. Look what the District is spending the taxpayers dollars on. Remember what I used to write on the white board when I was your Sub: THIMK!
