Notable calls for the day — April 15

Day Shift

• Deputies handled a reported suicide threat call. Deputies were able to make contact with the male. He was taken to the Crisis Center for assistance.

• Deputies responded to a drugs call. It was reported a friend of the R/P's son was in possession of some drugs. Deputies conducted interviews and eventually the friend was charged with possession of drugs.

• Deputies handled a property damage crash at Hayden and Chase Road.

Evening and Night Shift

• Deputies responded to a parking problem. On scene, they contacted a male juvenile who ended up having an active warrant. He was arrested.

• Deputies received a report of some people stuck on a Forest Service road in the snow in a UTV. Back country deputies responded to the location and rescued the individuals.

• Deputies handled a two vehicle non-injury accident at Ramsey Road and Hwy 53.

• Deputies responded to a report of several vehicles gathering near the airport. Deputies arrived on scene and contacted the group of juveniles. The group said they were just visiting and were not about to “Race.” They were warned about racing on public roadways.

• Deputies responded to the El Patio in Stateline Village for a suspicious call. It was reported a male made some strange statements to the bartender that caused her some concern. The inside and outside of the bar was checked and deputies remained in the area until the bartender left for the night.

• Deputies responded to what was initially reported as a home invasion in Hayden. Once deputies arrived on scene a perimeter was setup and eventually deputies contacted three subjects inside and outside the residence. There was a language barrier between LE and the subjects. A deputy was called out who speaks Spanish. As a result of the investigation, it was determined to be a domestic incident and not a home invasion. The suspect(s) had fled the scene prior to LE arrival. A report charging the suspect(s) with battery and aggravated assault was completed.

Day Shift

• Nothing noteworthy to report. Just some routine calls for service and traffic stops.

Evening Shift

• Deputies responded to a rehabilitation center for troubled youth for a report of a battery that had occurred. It was reported a male punched another resident over “screen time." The suspect was arrested for battery.

• Deputies responded to the Athol Super 1 Foods for a report of a suspicious/welfare check of a male. Deputies contacted the male and returned him home. It appears the male has dementia and got confused.

• Deputies responded to a residence after the homeowner reported he was possibly drugged. He advised dispatch he saw people dancing in his yard a couple days ago, and he believed he was now coming off the drugs. Deputies attempted to contact the male at the residence, but he refused to come to the door.

Night Shift

• Deputies responded to a residence in Spirit Lake for a battery. The R/P reported his daughter battered him after he took her vape pen away from her and asked her to do some chores around the house. The daughter ended up hitting the R/P in the head and upper body and at one point threw a knife in a sheath at the R/P. The daughter was arrested for battery and aggravated assault.

• A deputy was doing a security check at Q'emiln Riverside Park when he observed a suspicious vehicle. Four individuals were contacted. During the contact, paraphernalia could be seen and the odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. All the occupants were issued citations for the drug possession.
