Kathern I. Gilman, 66

On April 1, 2023, Kathern Ilene Gilman of Post Falls, Idaho, age 66, passed into the living arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born to Larry and Ruth Mattin in Cottage Grove, Ore. Kathie was their only daughter and oldest of four. Throughout her school years, Kathie was involved in many school sports. After graduating Yoncalla, Ore., class of 1974. Kathie moved to Idaho to attend Boise Bible College. While there, she met Richard Gilman and March 18, 1978, they joined in marriage.

Rick and Kathie then moved to Kellogg, Idaho, in June 1987 their daughter and only child Melissa was born. A few years later, the Gilmans moved to the Cd’A/Post Falls area.

While attending college, Kathie begin working for Sears, later transferring to the Cd’A Sears catalog store and worked for Sears for almost 25 years. She also worked for the Post Falls School District as a paraprofessional. Kathie devoted 18 years to working at Tesh with children and adults with disabilities. Many would describe her as outgoing, silly, compassionate and a wealth of knowledge.

Kathie was a member for 24 years at Real Life Ministries, serving in different ministries. The most important thing to her was that others would know the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and making Him their Lord and Savior.

Kathie is preceded in death by her beloved husband and parents. Surviving members of her family are: David and Melissa Searls of Post Falls, Idaho, her two grandsons and brothers: Randy Mattin of Yoncalla, Ore., Buddy Mattin of Roseburg, Ore., and Bob Mattin of Sutherland, Ore., and many more extended family.

A celebration of life service will be held at Real Life Ministries building one on April 29, 2023, at 11 a.m. Potluck reception to follow.
