Jerry Leroy Marlow, 87
Jerry Marlow, 87, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away at home Sunday, April 2, 2023. Born Dec. 9, 1935, in Spokane, Wash., he was the son of the late Alfred and Florence Marlow. He was also preceded by his son, Bradley, and his brother, Gary. Jerry was a 1955 graduate of Lindbergh High School and after graduation he joined the U.S. Navy. After finishing his tour with the Navy, he came home and was hired by a new building materials store in Spokane, Wash. It grew and after a merger it became the Pay ‘n Pak Stores and Jerry moved to the corporate offices in Kent, Wash., where he was the president and chief operations officer when he retired after 28 years with them.
He was very athletic and could play many sports well, like baseball, racquetball, golf. He enjoyed watching the Gonzaga basketball team play and never missed a game. He loved to travel.
A husband, father, grandpa, brother, RV traveler, llama farmer and storyteller — Jerry was all these and more. Jerry never knew a stranger and could light up any room with his colorful stories, testament to the many friends he made as he journeyed from Freeman, Wash., to Auburn, Wash., and then to Post Falls, Idaho, in the RV around the U.S. to visit many historical sites and national parks.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Marilyn (Boy) Marlow, and his children, Brian Marlow of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Barry (Lonni) of Liberty Lake, Wash.; grandchildren Rachel Marlow (Ariel), Ashley Tew (Justin), Kayla Hoener (Quinn) and Madison Marlow; great-grandchildren Lincoln Hoener and London Hoener; niece Lori Hartman; nephew Dale Marlow; and daughter-in-law Deb Marlow.
