LIBRARY TRUSTEES: Vote for Meyer and McCrea

| April 19, 2023 1:00 AM

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? “If any parent objects to a book in the public school library, that book should be removed, even if other parents like the book.” If you would disagree, you are in good company. According to an American Family Survey, 56 percent of respondents disagree with this statement. In a poll conducted by the Wall Street Journal, 61 percent were concerned that “some schools may ban books and censor topics that are educationally important.” It would appear that Americans do not favor censorship or book banning. That is why we should all vote to re-elect Judy Meyer and Regina McCrea to the Community Library Network Board.

Meyer and McCrea support the rights of all parents to choose the books they feel are appropriate for their children. Our community is more diverse than some may believe. The libraries serve the entire community. Libraries cannot be driven by religious or political ideologies. Meyer and McCrea are committed to maintaining a collection that has the diversity and depth that can speak to all human experience.

Americans do not support censorship or book banning. Vote Meyer and McCrea. Keep book banning and censorship out of our libraries.
