Jeanne Ranee Helstrom, 75

Jeanne Raneé Stone Helstrom was born to Arthur and Meta Stone on May 18, 1947, at Long Beach Naval Hospital, Calif. While an infant, her father was transferred to Spokane, Wash. At the age of 5, her family moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where Jeanne started school at Sherman and Central schools.

The Navy would take the Stone family to Quonset Point, R.I., Oxnard Calif., and New London, Conn., before retirement brought them back to Coeur d'Alene in time for Jeanne to graduate from CHS. Jeanne has three brothers, John Stone, Jay Stone and Tomm Stone, all of Cd'A.

She attended North Idaho Junior College, where she started dating and later married Herb Helstrom, of Coeur d'Alene in 1968. She worked for the Cd'A Press, then college took them to Nampa, Idaho, where she worked for the Idaho Free Press, then worked at the Idaho Department store in Karcher Mall in the jewelry department. Upon returning to Cd'A, she found a job at Montgomery Ward.

They then began their family of three daughters, Kristin J. Helstrom, Jamee B. Fitzpatrick, (Randy Fitzpatrick) and Bridgette R. Lowry, (Dane Lowry) all of Coeur d'Alene. Jeanne worked for the Spokesman-Review 23 years, until her retirement in 2007. She was an active member of the Cd’A Church of the Nazarene since 1967 and led a women’s Bible study and taught first grade Sunday school.

Jeanne is the author of two devotional books, "Morning Celebrations" and "Morning Jubilations."

The Helstroms have six grandchildren, Jessica White, (Tyler White), Errin Bourne, (Alina Bourne), Matthew Powers, David Lowry, Alizabeth Lowry and Kadee Rust, and three great-grandchildren, Brooklynne White, Madilynne White and Greyson White.

Jeanne's parents preceded her in death.

A celebration of life service will be held April 29 at 4 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Church of the Nazarene.
