NIC opens Spring 2023 exhibit

The Aspiring Artists Club at North Idaho College presents the Spring 2023 Art Show, opening April 12 through May 9 in the Edminster Student Union Building. The exhibit will showcase works from current and past student artists in painting, photography, sculpture and ceramics, and works will be available for sale with all proceeds going directly to the artists.

The show will also be juried by representatives from Art Spirit Gallery, Angel Art Gallery and Emerge Cd’A to present awards to the artists. Award presentations will be during the opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m. April 20, and will be free and open to the public.

The Aspiring Artists Club at North Idaho College was founded by Shiree Cosgrove in 2015, and is active in promoting the visual arts on campus and the careers of local aspiring artists. The club produces two major exhibitions, one each semester in the Edminster Student Union Building for all students at NIC. The other exhibition appears annually at the Art On The Green summer festival. The club promotes student art sales during the opening of each of its exhibitions. The Aspiring Artists club was founded to support student arts education through collaboration with local galleries, mentorship and field trips, and also contributes some proceeds to the NIC Foundation for scholarships.
