LIBRARY NETWORK TRUSTEES: Vote for Meyer and McCrea
I’m writing because I love our library. I encourage everyone within the Community Library Network area to get informed and vote in the Board of Trustees election on May 16. It’s an important election for the future of our libraries. People need to be paying attention and taking part. I’m supporting Judy Meyer and Regina McCrea for re-election.
My family’s home library is in Harrison. It’s part of the Community Library Network along with six other community libraries and a bookmobile. Our small-town library is a vital hub for families like mine. I visit the library nearly every week with my 3-year-old to check out books and participate in preschool story time. He loves socializing there and exploring crafts, toys and puzzles. The library offers these unique, irreplaceable educational and social services for families in our community. We find wonderful books in our library and through inter-library loans. We’re very happy with the selection and quality of the books we’ve found.
Judy Meyer and Regina McCrea know our libraries, they know our communities, and they are prepared to responsibly continue serving as trustees. A misguided movement in our area, supported by other Board candidates, wants to ban hundreds of books from the libraries and restrict library activities on ideological grounds. I trust Meyer and McCrea to navigate these tough issues while keeping the libraries open and providing high-quality service. They’ll have my vote on May 16.
