Jerry William Garrison, 87

We are saddened to announce the passing of Jerry William Garrison, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He was born April 4, 1935, to Enoch and Doris Garrison in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Jerry grew up in Sandpoint, where he attended the local schools and worked in the movie theater on the weekends. Jerry loved working outdoors. He started working for the Forest Service at the age of 16. He joined the army and while stationed in France served as a cook on the medical train. He was honorably discharged after two years of service.

Jerry met the love of his life, Wanda, his beloved wife of 63 years. They married March 21, 1959, settled in the Hayden-Coeur d'Alene area and built an amazing life together. He worked for Sunset Terrace and Pinewood Manor, along with driving school bus in the morning and afternoon. He eventually retired after 45 plus years of service. Jerry and Wanda loved working in the yard, canning and gardening at their home in Hayden.

He loved God and was very involved with the Seventh Day Adventist Church for over 40 years. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved his family and enjoyed being greeted by a snowball in the winter and water fights in the summer.

Jerry will be missed by so many. Jerry leaves behind his beloved wife, Wanda Garrison, sister Viola (Carl) Bonner, children Alan (Laura) Garrison, Steve (Gina) Garrison, LeOrla (Ed) Goodwin and Jeri Ann (Hal) McConnel, sister-in-law Maybelle Lee, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Ken Garrison.

Graveside service and burial will be held at the Prairie View Cemetery, 7190 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on April 16, 2023, at 2 p.m.
