2 men arrested, fentanyl, methamphetamine seized
POST FALLS - Two men were arrested following a traffic stop late Tuesday.
According to a press release, a Kootenai County Sheriff Office deputy observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Walmart at 6405 W Pointe Parkway.
The deputy saw two men leave the vehicle and enter the store. The deputy noted the vehicle was missing license plates.
When the deputy approached the vehicle, he saw drug paraphernalia in plain sight, the release said.
The occupants of the vehicle were located and identified as Ryan L. Longoria, 27, Pasco, Wash., and Brendan T. Rocheleau, 22, Richland, Wash.
Rocheleau and Longoria each consumed several fentanyl pills before they were contacted by deputies, the release said.
"Deputies observed signs of overdose and administered Narcan and immediately requested medical services," the release said.
Rocheleau and Longoria were transported to Kootenai Health via ambulance.
During the investigation, deputies seized 3.8 grams of methamphetamine, 8 fentanyl pills and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.
Rocheleau was booked into the Kootenai County jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of fentanyl. He also had confirmed warrants out of Washington for escape of custody and a fail to appear for a sex offense, the release said.
Longoria was booked into jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of fentanyl.
