COEUR d’ALENE — Sophomore Emma Todhunter hit a grand slam in the fourth inning of the first game for North Idaho College, which went on to sweep Big Bend 8-0 and 15-5 in a Northwest Athletic Conference doubleheader at Memorial Field on Thursday.
Freshman Summer Makinster also homered in the opener for NIC (15-8, 10-4 NWAC), which has won six straight games, all at home.
Big Bend is 2-12, 2-12.
Details from the second game were not available.
NIC is scheduled to face the Community Colleges of Spokane in a doubleheader on Tuesday at Spokane Falls.
