HITLER: Exploited chaos

The recent sign on display (To conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens) outside a local business has indeed caused quite a stir. It matters not whether those were Hitler’s words because his actions spoke much louder than those words.

While Jews comprised only 1% of the population in Germany at the time, Hitler disarmed them prior to their capture precisely to diminish their resistance. Hitler exploited the Great Depression and general chaos to his advantage to gain power.

Currently, our constitutional (First and Second Amendments in particular) rights are under threat and over the last decade in this country, race has once again risen to the forefront as a divisive issue. Add COVID, the disaster at the southern border and now inflation (to name a few issues) and we are a nation in chaos. You can hide under your veil of ignorance, or you can recognize similarities between then and now.
