Denise Ann Durflinger, 62

Denise Ann Durflinger, 62, died after her battle with corticobasal degeneration in her home March 29, 2023. Denise was born May 23, 1960, in Brush, Colo., to Mary and Jerry Carver. She attended Morgan Community College and moved to Alexandria, Neb., in 1979. This is where she was to meet Robert, who she would marry June 21, 1980. Denise and Robert would have two children, Amber and Adam. Later, in 1990, they would relocate the family to Post Falls, Idaho.

Denise had a passion for many things, but photography was at the forefront. It led her to a job in photojournalism, where she worked at the Deshler, Fairbury and Coeur d'Alene Press. She was passionate about cheer, rock-hounding, gardening and BBQs. The last, which she was a blue ribbon winner, but loved cooking for family and friends, which most just simply referred to her as "Mom." Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Jerry. She is survived by her husband, Robert Durflinger; her siblings, David Carver, Diana Sterkel and Dorothy Kaus; her kids, Amber Briles and Adam Durflinger; her son and daughter-in-law, Jesse Briles and Kaela Durflinger; her seven grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Zach, Cassidy, Addy, Makenna and Owen; and many nieces and nephews. The family will be holding a public graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls, Idaho, on Thursday, April 6 at 2 p.m.
