Robert 'Robb' Allen Erickson, 68
Robert “Robb” Allen Erickson of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away March 14, 2023, after a long battle with renal cell carcinoma. Like much of his life, he spent his final days surrounded by his girls, beloved wife, Brenda, and daughters Kelly and Tracy.
Robb was born Oct. 16, 1954, in North Hollywood, Calif., to Donna Wigfield and Richard “Dick” Erickson. He grew up in Santa Monica, Calif., graduating from Santa Monica High School (SAMOHI). In 1978, he began dating the love of his life, Brenda Plummer. They wed in 1981 and welcomed two daughters, Kelly in 1984, and Tracy in 1989.
Robb enjoyed anything with an engine, whether quarter midgets, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, boats, or semi-trucks. He began working at a young age doing various jobs and eventually owning his own company delivering heavy equipment. In 1981, Robb purchased his father’s company, Erick & Sons Transportation, and added a Lowbed service to it. In 1985 they expanded the business and relocated to Santa Clarita, Calif. In 1993, after selling their business, Robb and Brenda moved to North Idaho to be near family and to enjoy a slower lifestyle to raise their girls. They opened a General Nutrition Center franchise in Coeur d’Alene in 1994. Robb continued driving trucks, among other duties, for various companies, including CNI, WM Winkler, POE Asphalt and Zwinger Excavating, and operating his own company again, Robb Erickson Lowbed Service. He retired in December 2020 due to health concerns.
Robb was a devoted husband and father, and he cherished spending time with his family. They enjoyed many adventures together, camping, boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, and vacationing in Mexico. Boating was Robb’s favorite pastime, and he and Brenda made their summer home away from home at Squaw Bay Resort and, for the last 14 years, at The Silver Beach Marina.
Besides his girls, Robb’s greatest joy was being “Papa” to his grandchildren Lucas, Ford and Cora. Papa was known to build giant race tracks, play with cars, and despite his daughters’ pleas, get into mischief with his grandchildren.
Robb was known for his love of family, strong work ethic, honesty, sense of humor and knack for telling a good story. There are not enough words to sum up his life, but it was a life well lived surrounded by people he loved.
Robb is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda Erickson; his daughters, Kelly (Bryan) West and Tracy (Brett) Spencer; grandchildren Lucas West, Ford and Cora Spencer, all of Post Falls, Idaho; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary Erickson, Post Falls, Idaho; Mark Anderson, Wenatchee, Wash.; Linda (Jesse) Roman, Anaheim, Calif.; LouAnn (Bill) Andrade, Hereford, Ariz.; Morgan Noesen, Post Falls, Idaho; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Donna Erickson; siblings Rick Erickson and Judy Anderson; mother and father-in-law John and Dorothy Plummer; brothers-in-law Randy and Johnny Plummer, sister-in-law Joni Noesen; and nephew Life Erickson.
Robb and his girls were blessed by the wonderful care and compassion extended by his oncology nurse practitioner and Hospice of North Idaho.
