Passover Seder set for Wednesday in CDA
COEUR d'ALENE - A community Passover Seder is set for 7 p.m. in Coeur d'Alene.
The Seder will be run by student rabbis Dovid Lifshitz from Boise and Gedaliah Hertz from Chicago.
“We are excited to be coming back to North Idaho for Pesach,” said Lifshitz, who led the Seder last year. “It’s especially enriching to celebrate Passover together with a diverse and burgeoning Jewish community.”
The event takes participants through the "wondrous liberation of our ancestors from Egyptian bondage, while sharing the relevance and beauty of the age-old festival in our modern lives."
It will include dinner.
Rabbi Mendel Lifshitz, director of the Chabad Jewish Center in Boise, said Passover "inspires us to break free from our own limitations and complacency, restraining us from reaching new heights."
All are welcome to join the community Seder, which will be held at La Quinta Inn and Suites, 333 W. Ironwood Drive. Reservations are required. Call 208-488-8318 or rovingrabbis@jewishidaho.com.
“The Jewish community in North Idaho is growing and we are happy to provide another event for Jews to gather and celebrate,” Rabbi Mendel Lifshitz said.
