NIC TRUSTEE ELECTION: Vote for Broschet, Corkill and Zimmerman

| September 28, 2022 1:00 AM

I have lived in Kootenai County for more than 42 years. I watched the Aug. 22 North Idaho College Board of Trustee meeting. It was unbelievable. In all my years in the county, I have never witnessed such a fiasco. As voters, we have the responsibility to vote for competent leaders. NIC desperately needs competent, respectful board members. That is why I will be voting for Pete Broschet, Brad Corkill and Tarie Zimmerman for the NIC Board of Trustees.

I have looked into the candidates and believe that these three have the best chance to restore NIC to its position in our community. Broschet, Corkill and Zimmerman are all conservatives. They have deep ties to the community, volunteering on numerous boards and committees. Corkill and Zimmerman are business owners. Broschet works in H.R. at Empire Airlines. They understand the needs of the business community and how NIC can fulfill those needs.

All three candidates are committed to restoring civility to the NIC Board of Trustees. I would invite you to watch a recent NIC board meeting and you will see how absolutely essential a commitment to civility is. With a three-person majority on the board, perhaps the board can respectfully return to a focus on the needs of the college.

Join me in electing conservative, respectful board members — Broschet, Corkill and Zimmerman.
